a peaceful place

after an early morning of empowering conversation at EH, it was time for a cover-the-gray visit to my favorite new downtown salon.  i came in reflective and calm and left even more so.  That is definitely a first.  Incubator was exciting today--I am getting closer to discovering myself...

a few choice things for new jersey

a quiet morning, so i got around to packing the parcel for steve and kathleen...a couple things  for continuing the celebration of their engagement, and--upon specific request to send soon--the CD that they left here over Christmas.  Still finding myself doing a lot of smiling about the weekend news and wondering what it will be like to be mother of the groom...:)

Heart Talk

The ladies from the Life Back/Body Back program were discussing what is going right and what might not be.  I am the "Wednesday Person," meaning, my part of the team is being the run/walk leader in the park that day.  Thursdays are check in day.   Beth has asked the ladies to finish this sentence:  I am ____________.  And follow that up with the questions, "why? and how does that make you feel?" They discover what roles might not be aligning with who they are/what they love/what they want.
I love this woman.

new flexibility exercises

Leara, Sandy, Patrice and Louise discovered some new ways to loosen up at Sole Sisters this morning.  a new pre-run routine--throw your legs over someone else!

creative incubator day at EH..Maja started in on some strategies for Sole Sisters and more, and I don't think I was ready as I left there in tears...felt like a huge puzzle and I just wasn't flowing with the pieces..back up, be compassionate with myself, breathe and run

a balmy january

morning run with Sole Sisters in amazing temperatures for January!  we had more "spring" in our step, so I taught them how to do striders for leg speed.  fun

tried out a new hair salon and stylist, Jen, downtown at Amichi Capelli..i liked the unique atmosphere that being on the river brings, and i loved Jen's story of following her dream to buy this place..haircut? shorter, but i like it...

getting back in touch

lunch with nadia swade today at BarLouie at Levis Commons..it was GREAT seeing her..we shared so many years together at Arbor Hills--it choked us both up chatting about it today.

Fired Up

sole sisters fired up this morning after Train's "Soul Sisters" warm up tune!!  we brought all kinds of new ideas and moves to what it means to Warm Up!!  beautiful, beautiful morning, and they worked hard.  sooo happy.

i am so grateful to know Shannon Hudzinski--she knows how to massage in a way that calms me down within minutes..she does the myo-facial style, and makes sure she is learning new techniques all of the time.  i appreciate her passion for her work so much.

kroger time

after a morning run with sole sisters, a quick trip to the grocery store with loren...kept forgetting to take a picture today--need to set an alarm or something!  weather is still so mild for january, and i am grateful every single day that we don't have to run on asphalt...

a trip to Lambertville to replace some supplements from Jack Grogan...he really needs to get a bigger place--he was conducting health consultations while i was standing there trying not to listen..

so today, 35 minutes on the dreaded treadmill felt much longer..wind chill of 4 degrees sent me into the basement..the good news?  got reacquainted with Dances with Wolves--great movie!

Step One

decided to take a pic on this year long adventure at 10:00 am--or thereabouts--every day.  I considered a time in the evening, but lately, I am a slug by about 8:00..so maybe i should start there on the things that i am good at:  finding ways to unwind early in the evening..

Great morning with the heart-driven power of these ladies of the creative incubator at Elizabeth's House..I am excited to grow and create!  This is Maja, Amy-Marie, Louise, Karen and Cheryl...missing is our facilitator, Beth....I think she was getting me a blanket!

Moment of Gratitude

It felt important today to take a minute to thoroughly enjoy the birthday gifts all over again.  Thanks to my family and friends for these beautiful thoughts..and, unintentionally placed,  Steve and Sarah float up top the flowers..is there a metaphor in there somewhere? 

58th Birthday
